Opposition to Positive Reinforcement

Not everyone agrees positive reinforcement is a good idea, this guy Alfie Kohn seems to be one of the main opposition to the theory. This link gives us some idea of the types of things people might say in opposition to praising children for doing good things.

    This guy seems to be making the point that if kids start exhibiting positive behaviour ONLY to get a reward, then thats a bad thing. What about the 4:1 / 5:1 ratio of praise to reprimand that Richard Crook mentioned? (Rose Report / Elton Report)
